The siren is beautiful in an entrancing way, a kind of thievery that steals our gaze and attention. But with this beauty comes an ominous feeling of uncertainty hidden along with the darkness of the sea. Though the sea may not call to us amongst the vast lands of Mount Pleasant, the character that is the siren speaks to us. In grey and violet tones, layered with neutrals and adorned in pearls of different shades, our siren song is modeled by Marina Froelich, Tatiana Mason and newcomer Hailey Koh. The sirens emerge from the murky waters to usher in a new wave of excellence for Verge Magazine, starting the year and setting a glowing standard for the rest of it. As we look to the horizon, we envision a future filled with more opportunities for growth as students. Pearls are often used to symbolize strength, knowledge and beauty. These qualities are ones we hold strong throughout our history; they are qualities we will continue to showcase and will carry with us into the future.
